12/3/2023 0 Comments Itunes podcast libraryAdd the songs you want for your swim from your Music library, and then add the podcast episodes your Podcasts library. Ĭreate a new playlist by clicking the Plus sign at the bottom of the sidebar, and name it as desired (this playlist will hold the songs and podcasts for your swim). First, if the iTunes sidebar (along left side of window ) is hidden, from the menu bar, under View, select Show Sidebar. It uses the shuffle's features as designed. This may be a better way, instead of changing the Media Kind of a podcast episode to make it a song. ![]() You can then use this playlist as the source to add to the shuffle. In that playlist, select all the episodes at once, and do a Get Info to change the Media Kind setting. Add all the podcast episodes you want to "modify" to that playlist. TIP: To avoid getting the podcast episode "lost" in your music library's long list of songs, create a new playlist in your iTunes library. Since iTunes now treats the podcast episode as a song, it should be in the All Songs list on the shuffle. The name of the episode is the Name of the song. NOTE: It will now appear in your iTunes Music library. This tells iTunes that this item is now a song. Right-click the selection and choose Get Info. You can select more than one episode at once. Instead of using the Genre setting, there is a different setting that determine how iTunes identifies an item's media category (whether it's a song, podcast, audiobook, etc.). If you can explain how you did it before (using iTunes 10), I may be able to help you do it the same way in iTunes 11. You'll be asked a few questions and then be connected with Apple Support or offered the option to make an appointment.I'm not sure how you would do it using iTunes 10 that is different from using iTunes 11. Visit Apple's Support portal on the web to get started. If, after all of these troubleshooting suggestions, you still aren't able to stream, download, or access podcasts in the Apple Podcasts app, it's time to elevate the issue to the next level. If that still didn't work, there's one last thing to do. You can either go from here, adding back your content as needed, or follow the steps to erase your iPhone and, instead, select Restore from a backup instead. Once you're signed in with your Apple ID, open the Apple Podcasts app and see if it works. Tap Apple ID to sign in with your Apple ID.Tap iCloud at the top of the Settings page.Normally, you'd select "Restore from a backup," but you'll actually want to select "Set up as new iPhone (or whichever device you're restoring on).Īfter setting your iPhone up as new the first thing you'll want to do is sign in with your Apple ID if you didn't do so during the setup process. When the process is complete, you'll see the initial "Welcome" window. Tap Erase All Content and Settings, then tap Backup and Erase or Erase Now (Image credit: iMore) Launch the Settings app on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. If something should go wrong in this troubleshooting, you'll be happy to have a fresh backup. I highly recommend that you take a moment to Back up your device before continuing. You should only take these steps if you've tried the steps above and it still doesn't work. You'll have to add all of this back in again. This includes wallpapers, Wi-Fi passwords, font sizes, screen brightness, and yes, Apple Pay. You'll lose all of your system settings and will have to manually add them back in. It'll be like you've never deleted the app at all.Īt this point, hopefully, the bug has been cleared and you can go back to listening to your favorite podcasts, but if it's still not working, read on. Open the Podcasts app, then tap Continue when prompted (Image credit: iMore)Īfter tapping Continue, you'll be taken right back to your account data, complete with your favorite shows, Up Next playlist, and more.
