12/3/2023 0 Comments Arduino robot projectsOn the other hand, a RPi is a miniature computer for general purposes. It is very easy to use and does not demand much in terms of in-depth knowledge about microelectronics. Image: Digi-KeyĪn Arduino can be better understood as a microcontroller motherboard having limited ability to run one program in a single instance repeatedly. Thus, before we pass a verdict on whether Arduino or Raspberry Pi is better for a particular robotics project, we must first understand the basic differences between the two platforms.Ĭomparing the Arduino and Raspberry Pi Platforms The Arduino (left) and Rapsberry Pi (right) are both low-cost, open-source computing platforms but they are optimized for very different types of applications. Whether the running of various programs simultaneously is required or not is also dependent on the number of tasks that we expect the robot to do. Robotics projects require using certain resources that support running multiple programs at once. In order to make a good choice about which one is better for your robotics project, you first must understand the basic differences between the two. It is as follows. The classic Arduino platform and the newer Raspberry Pi architecture each have their own unique strengths, capabilities and weaknesses. Now, connect this robot car to the computer and upload the program for this robot. Next, attach the li-ion battery holder to this robot car. To do this, use the circuit diagram above. Then, connect the two IR sensors and the ultrasonic sensor to the motor driver shield. Next, attach the PWM servo motor driver and connect the servo motors to it. After, glue it to the robot and connect the gear motors to it. Step 9Īfter, connect the motor driver shield to the Arduino UNO board. Next, attach the robot arm to the robot car chassis. Now, glue these parts to the front of the robot. Then, cut out the following sizes and glue them as shown below. Next, cut a 10 cm long piece of foam board and attach the two IR sensors and the ultrasonic sensor to it. Then, attach the robot wheels as follows. Thirdly, attach the gear motors to the foam board. Secondly, cut a piece of foam board according to the size below. UNO board L293D motor driver Battery holder Jumper wires Step 2
